Hello
@ragursr!
What version of Nagios Core have you installed? Which CentOS version?
Have you installed the Nagios Plugins? You can do so by following this article specifically for your CentOS version.
https://support.nagios.com/kb/article/n ... tml#CentOS
In your title, it says to monitor logs? Can you explain this a bit more? What logs? Linux, windows?
please help me to understand which plugins needs to be installed, and steps to configure the localhost applications.
Could you explain a bit more of what you mean by this? Which applications?
Yes, NRPE allows you to remotely execute plugins on other Linux/Unix machines.
If you could give us more details that would help!

if you want to monitor logs, take a look at nagioslogserver. it is built much better for this use case.

Thanks
@tacolover101 and
@kyang.
@ragursr, could you please clarify or provide us with the information requested by
@ kyang.
As for monitoring logs, I strongly agree with what
@tacolover101 suggested.
