Email notification not working

I enabled Admin -> Manage Email Settings -> and configured the SMTP and was able to send a test email successfully.

However, I have a service defined with notifications enabled for Critical under the alert settings, but I'm not receiving any email alerts.

What could be the issue?

BTW, I'm testing this with Nagios XI "Free" licensing where you are allowed to have 7 hosts maximum (I'm using 4 hosts thus far).

Hello, @ikekim.
Can you click on the username in top right corner of the web interface? Click on notification methods in the left column and make sure that Receive alerts via email is enabled. Also, click on notification preferences and make sure that notifications are enabled. Check what types of alerts you'd like to receive here as well and click on update settings.
