discrepancy in Core vs. XI version

Hi,

we are currently running Nagios XI 5.4.7
the internal Nagios Core version is reported as:

Code: Select all

[adm-shm@pfanpnag01 ~]$ /usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios --help

Nagios Core 4.2.4
Looking at https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Nagio ... /Changelog
We can see that this Core version is from 2016-12-07

However our XI version is https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... NGES-5.TXT - from:
5.4.7 - 07/11/2017

Which Means that the core version is roughly 6 months behind in the XI package.

Would there be any issues with just upgrading the core version?, or would you prefer to let the XI package control which core version you're supporting?

Could you perhaps include in your XI changelog, which Nagios Core version is included?.

This would be correct. We handle Core changes depending on the issues or enhances we find.

For example in 5.4.1 of XI.

Code: Select all

Fixed status map issues with single hosts (Core 4.2.4 update) [TPS#10808] -JO
Otherwise here's the changelog for Nagios XI up to our current release.

https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... NGES-5.TXT

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any more questions.
