snmptt.conf

Hello,
I just found out while editing my snmptt.conf that it had a .swp. I did vi -r snmptt.conf and i dont see my latest config. it goes ways back.
The loaded conf is working fine. is there a way to recover the loaded snmptt.conf to recreate the snmtt.conf files. Its quite urgent.

does the backup store the snmptt.conf file ?

If the loaded conf is working, and when you vi couldn't you try to copy what is in there and then recreate the snmptt.conf?
If you happen to have any snapshots of your VM, you could reload it from that.

i'll try the first method. unfortunately i did not enable the snapshots. I just did on both nagiosxi and nagioslogserver virtual machines for the future. for now i'll restart with my changes. pain in the ass. May a good feature would be that snmp config files are part of the backup of nagiosxi files.

Sounds good.
As for storing the snmp config files with the backup script, it's not something we will add because none of those conf files are set up by Nagios XI.
You could make your own separate script to keep a backup of other files you would like to keep.
Placing a copy inside the /usr/local/nagiosxi/tmp directory would make it available in the restore.
