Dashboards concept, monitoring specific hosts / host groups

Hi,

i'am currently exploring Nagios as my side project. I've installed some clients and added hosts to monitor.
Now, i'd like to create custom views (Dashboards?) containing only some specific hosts.

Like for example - a view containing only application servers (hosts) or a view containing only some service servers.
I know how to define groups, but i don't see any option to assign some specific group to dashboard. Daschboards seems to show everything and i can only modify them by adding some various dashlets.

How could i achieve that goal?

Welcome!

First, have you created a new dashboard already?

If you created a host group already using the Core Config Manager.

You can go to XI Home --> under details click "Hostgroup Summary" --> click the little blue arrow and select your dashboard to add it to.

Now, when you go back to dashboards you should only see that host group on that dashboard.

Let us know if this helped!

Ok, it's something.

So i could add to my dashboard "Host Group Status" dashlet with specific Group of servers.

But that's only status. Is there any way to add to my dashboard such dashlets like "Status Grid" or "Latest Alerts" limited to the specific host group?

Adding these dashlets to a dashboard could be done in a similar way.

1. Go to Home > Hostgroup Grid and click on the dashify icon in the upper-left corner (Add This To A Dashboard)
2. Go to Home > Incident Management > Latest Alerts, select your hostgroup from the drop-down menu, and click on "Update". Click on the dashify icon to add the dashlet to a dashboard.
