Does EventHandler run if the Srvc is in Scheduled Downtime?

Hello There,

I have recently configured Event Handler for few service checks to execute a script on state change which appears to be working fine.

I do have a question about the Event Handler Functionality though.

Would Event Handler still execute if the Service Check is in Scheduled Downtime and state changes?

Thank You,
Sampath.

Thank You @dwhitfield.

I went through the other thread. I would like to incorporate the feature into our existing EventHandler Script. Can you please let me know how it was accomplished? As per the other thread, I see it wasn't working with the solution provided.

But in general, shouldn't this be a built feature? Just the way how alerts are disabled when downtime is scheduled on a Host or Service.

Can I request for an enhancement ?

Thank You,
Sampath

I believe this is planned for Core 5:
https://github.com/NagiosEnterprises/na ... issues/108

Which is where the change *should* come from rather than fiddling with Nagios XI specific stuff. I chimed in on the issue since the last correspondence was a while back.

I only vaguely recall the original ticket. In lieu of the logic existing in Nagios Core, I've suggested others leverage the REST API or the JSON CGIs as part of their event handler to get specific status information about a particular Nagios object (such as its downtime status).

Thanks @mcapra!

OP, apologies on not understanding that you wanted these not to run.

Unfortunately, no release date yet for Core 5. At this point, I don't even want to speculate. Keep your eyes on https://www.nagios.com/roadmaps/
