Monitor Notes included in Email

We would like to include some documentation in our Monitors for Hosts & Services. We did install the Notes tab but were wondering what other customers are doing for documentation. We would like to be able to include this information in email notifications and are looking for a recommendation on how to best do this.

You can include various types of information in your notifications via custom notification variables. Please review the document below. It describes the variables available for use when customizing Nagios® XI™ notification messages.

Thank you for the documentation. I looked thru the document and do not see where the notes tab can be included in an email / notification. Does this mean that it is not possible to include the notes tab information?

There is no way at the moment to include the Object Notes to email notifications. It is a great feature candidate though. We may add this functionality to one of our future releases of XI if approved by our developers. There is no guarantee that it is going to be added (as with any feature request).

Can you think of another way to store monitor documentation (may be quite large)? Someplace where we could use a variable to include that information in an email?

You could provide a URL to your documentation, using the Notes or/and Action URL fields.
Example:

These are
Nagios standard macros, and you could use these in your notifications.
