User management

Hello,

Deleting a user currently doesn't seem to delete the contact and the contact's timeperiods? It could be nice if user management would become a bit more integrated, such as giving us the option to also clean up core configs. Also When I delete or edit a user, it seems like an apply configuration is initiated. Taking into account that an apply takes up to 2 minutes, it would be nice to be able to choose to not apply with a checkbox, such as with the bulk modification tool, so we can do multiple changes at once and then make it apply once?

Grtz

Willem

In Core 5, you will not need to reload/restart nagios for config changes (https://www.nagios.com/roadmaps/). I'm not sure how this is going to work or when Core 5 will make it into XI (and I don't want to speculate until Core 5 is out), but this should resolve one of the issues. XI 5.5 will have performance improvements in the apply config, so that may help out some until the bigger improvements make their way to XI.

User functionality is getting rebuilt in XI 6.0 (https://www.nagios.com/roadmaps/), so that should take care of the other issue.

Feel free to send friends and colleagues to https://github.com/NagiosEnterprises/nagioscore/ to help us push Core 5 out the door.

No more applies in Xi would be so awesome, you have no idea how annoying it is.. And looking forward to the improved user mgmt in 5.6. You can close this thread. Grtz
