What's the secret behind Nagios XI Email alert? I was able to send test emails and Nagiox reported successful but I never received the mails in my Gmail, O365 and IPS mail. Already checked nagiosadmin profile & Email setting. They looked OK. Nagio XI is a VM running on Windows 2012R2 Hyper-V w/ Internet enabled. TIA

Hello, @DataAssure. So XI says that a test email was sent but you never received it, right? Can you try sending it one more time and then upload the most recent maillog from your system:

The maillog says: Network unreachable! Let me investigate my XI config. Tx for the pointer!
The frustrating thing is it says successful & no error. At first I thought it's O365 STARTTLS so we switched to Gmail & ISP. No dice.
Pls don't lock this yet. Let me check first. TX

Network checked OK but we are still getting the Network Timeout error. Let me try the Nagios XI VM on our VMware server. The one doesn't work is on Hyper-V.

Both Hyper-V & VMware displayed the same error: Network Unreachable. We have others VMs, Windows & Linux, on both hypervisors & they are working fine except Nagios XI.

Could you PM me your mail log, phpmailer.log, profile and post a screenshot of your mail settings?
Mail settings screenshot --> XI home page --> click Admin --> on the left side under System Config --> Click Manage Email Settings --> Screenshot this page.


Nagios XI Profile instructions --> On the XI Home Page click "Admin" > "System Profile" --> "Download Profile" button
Save the profile.zip file and upload it here or PM me.

Debug Log:
This will enable debug logging for phpmailer emails. The log is located here: /usr/local/nagiosxi/tmp/phpmailer.log
Sendmail log location depends on your system (examples: /var/log/maillog or /var/log/mail.log)

I just downloaded the VMware image 5.4.2 & deploy it in my vSphere. I did change the Mail Settings before tried sending a test mails. No go.
