Can you provide the steps you did to install Mod Gearman on the server?
It sound like it may not of compiled correctly and it causing the Nagios Process to crash.
One thing you can try, the instructions below are for installing Mod Gearman on Nagios XI.
Even though it is for XI, it should work for you.
