i am having a trouble while installing nagios on centos 6.9. I installed lamp server and asterisk prior to installing nagios. instead of installing nagios xi i mistakenly installed nagios-4.3.4. It was a successful install but when i tried to install Nagios xi on my OS it gave me many errors. How can i completely remove older version of Nagios and install a clean copy of Nagiosxi. any help would be much appreciated. thanks

Don't do that. Per the
official manual installation documentation:
Important: Nagios Enterprises highly recommends and will only support installing Nagios XI on a newly installed, "clean" system (a bare minimal install with nothing else installed or configured).

How did you install nagios-4.3.4? Did you use a specific package manager? A specific repository? Is there documentation you followed?
The simple answer here is to start with a completely clean system, then attempt to re-install Nagios XI. There's a good chance you will lose many more hours trying to "un-break" this system than it would take to start completely fresh.

Thanks
@mcapra!
pasha, mcapra is right. We always suggest installing any Nagios product on a clean system.
