Nagios Support Forum

Hi,

We are planning to Migrate to RHEL from CentOS. and also would like to migrate to the latest version of Nagios.

What would be the recommended approach to this. Should I first upgrade within CentOS and then port to RHEL or get new RHEL and then import all my services and hosts to the new environment.


We are currently on
Nagios XI Version : 2014R1.5
gaatlp81u 2.6.32-358.2.1.el6.x86_64 x86_64
CentOS release 6.4 (Final)
Gnome is not installed
Apache Information
PHP Version: 5.3.3

Hello, @sujitt. I think a backup-restore would be problematic because your version of XI is too old. I'd probably recommend to save/backup the /usr/local/nagios/etc/ folder with all the configs, then install a new OS, and then do a clean installation of the latest XI. And finally, import all the old configs using a Core Configurations Manager Import tool. Let me know if you have other questions.
