Hi Team,
We have almost 50 AIX 7.1 servers to be monitored . Can anyone please share the document to install and configure NRPE on AIX7 servers? Do Nagios support this OS version? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The official documentation only lists AIX 5.3 and 6.1, but you're welcome to try it with AIX 7:

Although the latest NRPE for AIX does not "officially" support AIX 7.1, it's likely to work just fine. And the current NCPA agent has been built and tested on AIX 7.1.

I have one more doubt, We have installed NRPE on few AIX 6.1 machine, Now if the OS upgrades to AIX 7.1 then does installed NRPE support new OS?

Hi, @jyoti22. We don't officially support installation on AIX systems yet, therefore we haven't made any proper QA tests. There are two concerns: file structure - nrpe is looking at specific system directories, and if AIX has a different file structure nrpe will not be able to start. The second concern is required packages, AIX may or may not support the packages required by NRPE. You can try to install the NRPE from source and if you encounter installation errors you'll need to tweak the install script. https://support.nagios.com/kb/article.php?id=515
Otherwise, as @bolson said NCPA agent will work just fine on your AIX 7 server.
