Is this a "clean" install? It seems like you already had some mariadb packages installed on the system.
Important: Nagios Enterprises highly recommends and will only support installing Nagios XI on a newly installed, "clean" system. Attempting to install Nagios XI on a pre-existing system with other applications already installed can cause the Nagios XI installation process to fail, critical system components and settings (e.g. database servers) to be modified in a way that negatively affects other applications, and previously installed applications to be automatically upgraded or removed. While installing XI on a system with other applications is possible, it is not recommended due to the possible interactions and complexity of multiple components that are required for Nagios XI to function. If you choose to ignore these warnings, you do so at your own risk.
Is it a manual install or rpm install? Online or offline environment? Can you post the entire install.log file?

on top of what @lmiltchev mentioned, could you please provide more information about your system and versioning?

Thanks @tacolover101 for the help.

@nagios1810, can you run the following commands as root on the server and post the /tmp/info.txt file?

Code: Select all

yum repolist >/tmp/info.txt
yum list installed >>/tmp/info.txt

Nagios XI is not officially supported to run / install on a OracleLinux system.

I suggest that you use either a Centos or Redhat system for Nagios XI.

I have heard that some people have gotten it to work but is looks like your system has a few repository issues.

First, clean out the yum cache by running the following as root

Code: Select all

yum clean all
Then, from the install.log file, you have to enable the Optional repo.

To do this, edit his file /etc/yum.repos.d/public-yum-ol7.repo on the server and find this section.

Code: Select all

[ol7_optional_latest]
name=Oracle Linux $releasever Optional Latest ($basearch)
baseurl=http://yum.oracle.com/repo/OracleLinux/OL7/optional/latest/$basearch/
gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-oracle
gpgcheck=1
enabled=1

Make sure the enabled=1 option is set to a 1, if not set it to a 1 and save the file.

Then try and install XI again to see if it works.
