New install - is Innodb the proper path yet?

I need to setup 3 new Nagios XI servers. I have been hearing Innodb spoken about for a long time.

So, are we there yet? Should I invest the sweat equity to make this work for me?

Or, is it too soon. Will a new version of Nagios XI down the road handle this for me.

Please advise.

Thanks

Steve B

To the best of my knowledge, XI is going innodb just for the nagiosxi database in 5.5.0 which is slated to be out withing a few months.

All the rest of the DB's are staying MYISAM

Thank you Scott.

One last question... For my new servers, can I install Mariadb 10.2 instead of using the Mariadb 5.5 that Red Hat defaults to. Will I regret this?

Thanks

I can't honestly say because we haven't tested it.

My guess it is will work fine, but I do not know the changes made between 5.5 to 10.2, and have no idea of the ramifications. If you are going to do this I would highly suggest doing it on a testing environment first.

Thank you Scott.

That is a 'No' for me. I'll stick with the Mariadb 5.5 / Mysql 5.5 instead of trying the Mariadb 10.2 / Mysql 5.7
