Unlike CentOS, Debian has the capability of live in-place dist upgrades. For that very reason, has Nagios ever considered supporting the installation of your products under Debian and if not, why?

Thanks in advance.

That sounds like a bit of a nightmare to maintain from a Nagios XI life-cycle perspective without a particularly robust set of regression tests. There's a whole lot of underlying components that prop-up Nagios XI.

I'm also not totally confident Core itself (or any moderately sized C project) could reliably survive dist/kernel upgrades every time they're done. I've had hand-rolled PHP builds blow-up in my face due to dist changes on Debian (granted I haven't really worked with Debian in ~3 years).

Yes, and it is coming. We believe it will be out in 5.5 but it must make it through all of the QA process.
