I see that Nagios XI 5.5 is available for download, but the release notes website isn't updated yet. Can this be done?

I must say I'm a bit dissapointed about the 5.5.
The roadmap changed since I last checked it (few months ago) and a lot of improvements have been pushed away...

Sorry to hear that, not sure which ones you were anticipating, but it does happen that during final testing it is discovered that an items isn't up to what is required for an enterprise level product, and it must be pushed back to not hold everything else up.

Not the original poster, but for what it's worth these were the two items I was most looking forward to in 5.5 that are now listed for 5.6:

More automation integration
Better CCM configuration utilities and additions (such as showing template inheritance)

Automation is a fairly big thing for my organization so improvements to the API can't happen fast enough, and the wonkiness of where you have to go to see template inheritance keep Nagios XI very confusing for new admins.

Thanks for the input @Matthew.Cary

I meant for example:
  • Better usability for new users including better CCM integration with the rest of the XI GUI
  • New user permission system with more granular, well-defined permissions
And overall old inheritance system, which is simply a great pain to configure (template to groups and so on).

this is likely to not change because it is central to how Core works, however we have added the ability to make sweeping bulk modifications to almost all CCM objects.

Not sure what more you want, the CCM has autologin capability already setup if you had it enabled, this coupled with what was added in 5.5 allowing you to give users access to all or limited CCM functionality form Admin -> Manage Users is a massive improvement.
jacek wrote:New user permission system with more granular, well-defined permissions
Again see above, from Admin -> Manage Users
If you have a regular user and you set "Core Config Manager access:" to something other than None, you have a ton of options for granularity.

If you are looking for something else, let us know what is lacking and it may make it into a future release

Scott, take a look at my post, and then at the product roadmap over here https://www.nagios.com/roadmaps/, then You will see that Your answers are a bit odd, because things that I'm asking for (and are planned for XI 6), you are saying that they are already there ;)
Never mind, I'm ok with the product and if I come up with some ideas I will share them with you.
