Nagios XI 5.5 - Backed API

Hi,

I noticed that the Backend API URL that has been deprecated finally stopped working.

We are using our TV screens, that are showing a given dashboard on them all the time, but since the Backend API component stopped working we need to login each time to that.
Is there any workaround to open a dashboard without the need to login, or somehow pass the credentials, even in plaintext - these users are read-only dashboards, so there is no risk.

Thanks!

Go to Admin > System Settings > Backward Compatibility tab, select the "Allow Insecure Logins" check-box, and click on "Update Settings". Now, you should be able to use the user's API key the same way as you used the ticket (in the old component).

Let us know if this helped. Thank you!

Forgot to mention - you could generate new insecure ticket for a user, under the "Edit User: xxx" page.

Very nice! Worked for me.
Are there any options to get that working without using the backward compatibility? Or are You working at one? Or will it simply not be possible in the future?
Anything You could recommned?

You will have to purposefully enable it on the servers

So You mean this backward compatibility option will never be deleted?
I'm pretty OK with the way this works in 5.5 (enabling on a per-user basis).

I won't ever say never, but as of now, I have not heard that intention.
