Hi Team,

This question may simple but we need the details.

For ex: We have X host and X host having 5 services, approximately how much MB nagios occupies in nagiosxi 5.4.0. You can take all are the default setting like checks/intervals/notifications. We just need approximately how much MB is required for 1 day on 1 host along with 5 services in 24*7.

Are you referring to memory usage or to disk space requirements?

it varies a lot depending on how many performance metrics each items has as well as how frequently they change state. There is no way to exactly pinpoint this.

Can you please find the attachment for checks settings and services. Can you tell based on these how much MB is consume.

Which method is being used to check these hosts? WMI? SNMP? Some sort of agent like NCPA/NRPE/NSClient++? Were these checks configured using a configuration wizard?

There just an incredibly large amount of factors that influence how any active monitoring solution (not just Nagios XI) will perform at scale. Any figure you get from an authority other than someone physically looking at your host machine would be, at best, a very rough approximation.

@mcapra is right, even if we gave you a number, it wouldn't be anywhere close to correct because we don't know how often your system are going to be in a non-ok state, which will add to the database size.

At a cursory level I already sent a document that says we recommend 80GB disk for 600 total checks, This would be 133MB per service

can you tell me what details you required from me to give approximate value for 1 host and 5 services. I can provide the details to you ,i can help on this.
