SNMP RATE graph not working

Hi,

we have some issues with our Nagios XI. We're using it (amongst other things) to count some power consumptions/generations at our building (e.g the power delivered from our photovoltaics). There are SNMP enabled devices connected to them which count a predefined value of ticks per kilowatt. we request the current amount of passed ticks every 5 minutes and compare this value with the one recorded 5 minutes ago using the SNMP plugin with the SNMP RATE switch enabled at our Nagios XI server. The check itself works fine and replies the correct value (e.g. "SNMP RATE OK - 36.14634146") But the corresponding graph is sometimes emtpy, sometimes completely wrong. An example picture is attached. This happens with all our SNMP RATE checks.

Does anyone have an idea why this is happening?
Many thanks in advance!

I'd be curious to see what the nagios.log(default /usr/local/nagios/var/nagios.log) shows during these blank or times when it is at 0. Older nagios logs are archived in /usr/local/nagios/var/archives if you need to look back in time.

Hi cdienger,

thanks for the quick reply! I just got informed that the person who manages our Nagios XI Plugin used a modified, old version of the SNMP Plugin. As soon as we started to use the official one, the graphs are displayed correctly. This Thread can be marked as solved, if possible.

Thanks for your help!
