Hello Nagios Team!
Recently in our Nagios XI deployment, we have decided to separate QA and Production resources into separate Host Groups. This works great for the Operations View as the screen will display anything in those host groups (including the services associated with the hosts).
We want to go one step further and for any Host or Service in those Host Groups, we want to assign a specific contact that will use an event handler to email a ticket to our ticketing system. I have tried using the bulk modification tool to assign the contact to the host group, but the contact will only be used for any HOST related issues. How can I easily also have this contact information trickle down to any hosts added to the host group AND their services?
Thank you for any insight!
Regards,
Mike

I would use host templates for this. You can name them similarly to your hostgroups. Like for a hostgroup named "QA-hg", you might name the template "QA-ht".
