Processing events from 5 days ago

Post by georgi »

My Nagios got a ton of snmp traps 5 days ago and is still processing them.

PROCESS EVENT: ID=2227910, SOURCE=2, TYPE=2, TIME=2018-08-16 11:24:08
PROCESS EVENT: ID=2227923, SOURCE=2, TYPE=2, TIME=2018-08-16 11:24:08

How do I clear all events until this moment so NAgios doesnt process the old ones?

When the SNMP Trap process receives traps, it puts them in a folder to get processed and you should be able to delete the contents of the folder to remove any old received traps.

Go to this folder

Code: Select all

/var/spool/snmptt
and delete all of the files in there and that should remove the old traps.

Try that out and let us know how it works out for you.

I deleted the contents of the folder.

It is now (through out the night) procesing events from a day ago.
PROCESS EVENT: ID=7709352, SOURCE=2, TYPE=1, TIME=2018-08-21 10:50:49

Is there a way to clean up all events older then this moment?

I saw that you opened a ticket for this. Shall I close this post and only work through the ticket?
