Best practices to configure Event Collection from NagiosXI

Hello There,

Recently configured Event collection from NagiosXI in ServiceNow Event Management for Incident creation.

https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/king ... ector.html

It appears to be working fine with event collection and alert creation. We do have few Alert Action rules created for creating Incidents based on the Alerts and assign the incidents to various different teams using the metric names (Service Check Name) as conditions.

Did anyone setup this in your environments and are there any best practices around it to make this more effective.

Any suggestions for scheduling downtime? Since downtime scheduled in NagiosXI does not stop ServiceNow from collecting Events.

Any inputs are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance.

I'm not aware of anyone on our team with experience with this tool. You may want to check with the creators of the tool. Otherwise, we'll keep this thread open in case there is someone from the community that has used it and wants to chime in.

Thank You @cdienger

I did check with ServiceNow and according to them, only way is to move the server to Maintenance mode in CMDB in ServiceNow which I feel is not an effective solution.

Better to keep this thread open, just in case if some one wants to post their inputs.

Thank You.
