There is a problem with the event queue chart dashlet that doesn't always display info. The dashlet loads and than doesn't show any chart data. The strange thing is that this happens only on the pc we have configured to be used as a nagios status display and only shows the nagios xi website.

My own PC doesn't have this problem and a few days ago I installed Java, Flash, Shockwave and Silverlight just to try and tackle the problem. It showed up than, but after a day the problem returned. This in't a very big problem, but I built a custom dashboard which displays all the critical machines and services in a minemap and some status summaries and Nagios performance overviews. The event queue gives me a good overview of the performance of checks.

I use the CentOS 6 32bit VM image which I have updated to Nagios XI 2011R2.0 with 2 procs and 3 GB RAM. (Disk I/O wait is about 0.0 to 1.0%) and I monitor about 150 hosts and about 3500 checks per 5 minutes.
There are no special packages installed except the VMware Perl SDK.
The display machine I use is a Win7 Enterprise PC and fully updated.

Just curious, is this the same machine that has the nagios_statehistory table marked as crashed?

Yes, this was a different issue so I made a new topic.

The reason I asked is that it could be failing because it cannot read the statehistory from the crashed table.

That cannot be the reason, because it is working fine on my own PC. All the browser plugin versions are the same and I tried all the different browser versions.

I think I may know what the problem is.

We had some bugs in 2011R2.0 related to the dashlets that were fixed in 2011R2.1

The cause had something to do with the minification of the javascript. There weren't many changes between 2.0 and 2.1 but 2.1 was put out rapidly because of this bug.

I have a feeling an upgrade may resolve your issue.

I can't upgrade the server this week or next week (due to a domain migration), but I will try this later and post the results.

Please do, I would be almost sure this is the issue.

I just upgraded to 2.1 and the problem is still present.
I guess this means it wasn't a problem with the minification process.

Maybe the big update to the 2012 version will fix this issue.
