Due to company policy, it has been requested that NagiosXI should be installed in a directory other than the default /usr/local – for example: /nagios/apps or /app

We seek your clarification on the following matters:

1. Will NagiosXI work accordingly if it is installed in /nagios/apps?

2. Will there be a support issue if NagiosXI is installed in an alternative path to /usr/local? If yes, please state the level of support that will be compromised.

3. If NagiosXI is only fully supported in /usr/local please state the reason.

We would like to thank you for helping us to ensure that we follow correct procedures in order that we do not compromise the level of support.

XI wasn't built to support being installed in a different location and will require modifications in order to run properly. You are welcome to use custom paths if you wish, but you would be on your own.

If you decided to go this path, I would recommend that you try your mods in a test environment first, prior to applying it in production. Each Nagios XI license key is valid for 3 installs - production, test, and backup. Please review our KB article on the topic here:
