XI 5.5 - Gearman Compatibility

Hello,

Reading multiple posts / GitHub issues about XI 5.5+ in combination with gearman worker issues, I'm wondering what's the current status of compatibility? We are only using 1 worker which executes all mrtg checks, but it's critical that this stays stable after updating..

On my Nagios XI CentOS 6 server I'm using :

Code: Select all

gearmand.x86_64 1:0.33-2 @/gearmand-0.33-2.rhel6.x86_64
gearmand-devel.x86_64 1:0.33-2 @/gearmand-devel-0.33-2.rhel6.x86_64
gearmand-server.x86_64 1:0.33-2 @/gearmand-server-0.33-2.rhel6.x86_64
mod_gearman2.x86_64 2.1.1-1.el6 @/mod_gearman2-2.1.1-1.rhel6.x86_64
On my mrtg worker, also CentOS 6:

Code: Select all

gearmand.x86_64 1:0.33-2 @/gearmand-0.33-2.rhel6.x86_64
gearmand-devel.x86_64 1:0.33-2 @/gearmand-devel-0.33-2.rhel6.x86_64
mod_gearman2.x86_64 2.1.1-1.el6 @/mod_gearman2-2.1.1-1.rhel6.x86_64
Is the pr Bryan Heden is working on required for gearman to work with 5.5+? =>

Willem, as of now there is on ETA on when ModGearman will work with Core 4.4. Currently, if you are upgrading your XI, and you have ModGearman configured, we do not upgrade Nagios Core engine. If you did a clean install of XI 5.5, you would need to downgrade Core in order to use Gearman. Thank you!

Sorry but we don't have an ETA right now on this issue, and something to be resolved in a future release of Mod-Gearman. You can follow the issue on Github:
