Solution to use remote servers in different network zones

Post by sib »

Hi

I would like to know what an ideal solution would look like. We currently have 1 NagiosXI server that monitors all our hosts. With a zoning project we need to use 1 central server and in each of the network zone (DMZ, etc.) kind of a proxy server that takes care of the monitoring. The central server should collect the status of each proxy server and do the alerts and dashboard stuff...

I want to avoid having to maintain a different configuration of each proxy server. That would be using too much of my time. Ideally this should be centrally managed.

I would suggest a Mod-Gearman setup . The configuration would be done on the central XI server but the checks are distributed and run on remote work servers:
