Notification inheritance, default, problem

Hello,
I am running v5.5.3, 64-bit, VM, CentOS 7.
I have hosts with notification groups.
My services did not notify until I added a contacts group to the higher-level service templates.
My services now notify, but more specific notification groups for the host the service is on do not seem to be included.
The configuration is an import from a Nagios v3 server with a high degree of inheritance.

I've tested a problem with the host check command, notification for the host works.

There have been a lot of break/fixes to the notification behavior recently. I tested this on a 5.5.6 machine and the contacts groups were being inherited. I'd do an upgrade to take advantage of the fixes available.

Yes, you can go straight to XI 5.5.6.

Hello,
The XI app has been upgraded, I had to do it manually, but it was pretty smooth.
That by itself, at least, did not solve the problem.
In getting together data for further trouble shooting, I noticed a problem. I tested the solution with a program that allows me to change state at will, it passed the test, so it looks solved!
Thanks for all of your help!
Please lock the case.
