Looking at your roadmap for NagiosXI you list moving from RRD files to D3. Trying to understand what that will mean for us. Will we need to convert our RRD files or will they still graph? What advantages does D3 give us? And do you know if other graphing tools can use D3 like Grafana or graphite?
We are planning projects and tasks for next year and trying to understand how the changes in version NagiosXI 6.0 will impact us. Or maybe I'm just getting ahead of myself.

Thanks and hope everyone had a great thanksgiving,
Greg

Hi Greg,

For Nagios XI 6, we're planning improvements to graphing as well as the option to use other data sources in addition to RRD to enhance performance. We're in the planning stages, so I don't have specifics, but upgrading to Nagios XI 6 will have minimal impact as using RRD will be an option. You'll still be able to use RRD in addition to other databases. We've updated the product roadmap to make this more clear for users (https://www.nagios.com/roadmaps/).

Let me know if you have any other questions.
