daily getting to much notification How to limit notification alert .

There are a number of settings to customize notifications in Nagios XI. You can begin by setting the notification preferences for your user account. Clik on the user name in the upper right hand corner and under notification options select notification preferences.
For example, you can set notifications for only host / service down or other critical state types. You can also set the time periods. So for example, perhaps you do not need certain notifications during work hours, so it's possible to fine tune the notifications for differing time periods based on user or contact groups.

Another way of reducing notifications is to use dependencies or parent/child relationships (two separate things), so when the host goes down, notifications for services under the host will be suppressed.

I have want to implemente the email and phone to SMS alerts. but I want to limit the amount of texts as I don’t want a text or email every 5 minutes until recovery for sanity reasons and also cost reasons!

Limit amount of Nagios xi Notifications

I want to be alerted via email every 5 minutes for 25 minutes. Then no more email until the host recovers.

Hello murugesaniyappan,

You can use the service escalation wizard to accomplish this along with a 'dummy escalated contact, for example the primary contact will receive the first 5 messages every 5 minutes and then the dummy contact will receive the remaining notifications.
