UNKNOWN - check_oracle_health timed out after 60 seconds

Post by hoegh »

Hi Team,

We are getting UNKNOWN - check_oracle_health timed out after 60 seconds for DB tablespace.
Also sometimes we get UNKNOWN - check_oracle_health timed out after 480 seconds.
Here 60 is used in command with -t & 480 is the Max Commands Age in Nagios.
We have configured all the DB Tablespaces using same command but we are getttin this unknown alert only for one specific db.
It was encountered earlier, but at that time it was used to come normal after 4-15hours without any action needed from DB or Nagios team.
But now again we encountered this issue after 2-3 months.
Please suggest us why it happens only with one db.

Thanks & Regards
Vipin

What does the check that is failing look like? You can see details regarding the query that is being made by running the command on the command line and adding the "-v" flag.

The behavior would suggest that the database is either not responding or taking a long time to do so. You may need to work with the DBA to ensure the database is up and able to respond to requests in a timely manner.
