What kind of issues are you having? Are you having configuration/design issues, performance or other issues? What is the version of Nagios XI that you are currently running? What is the OS/architecture?
Issues are like,
1. Without any config changes Sometime Mail Notification works sometimes it fails. If you can see our previous posts, we have raised many queries only for
"Ticket Not Generating in Service Now".
But still we are not able to find Root Cause Analysis. Every time we play with commands, some works fine some fails. Due to which we don't have any proper solution.
2. During Nagios upgrade sometime its corrupts Config File resulting we have to revert it to its previous working Snapshot.
3. Since last 5-6 months we are troubleshooting Nagios, as its not stableas per our expectations.
So instead of troubleshooting allot we are planning to Reinstall Nagios on a clean system & configuring all services/servers/contacts/notifications manually or through config wizards.
By this we can document the Nagios Config as per our requirements.
We would need some more information in order to point you to the right direction. Is your Nagios XI on a VM or a physical server?
Nagios XI is on a VM.
When you say "setting up nagios from scratch", do you mean performing a full install of Nagios XI on a clean system, then adding all objects via wizards (or manually)? Are you going to be restoring from a backup or perhaps importing some/all configs from the web UI?
Yes we want to perform a full Installation of Nagios XI on a clean system.
Thanks for the documents, but this only helps in installation of Nagios Xi.
We also want the documentation on
Nagios Mail Notification
Contacts
Contact Groups
Hosts, Services
Host Groups & Service Groups
Nagios Admin
Nagios Users
Dashlest
Dashboards
etc. all features which plays very important role & provides enrich features for monitoring.
Currently we are using License version of Nagios XI,
if we are installing Nagios XI on clean System, can we use our Current Nagios XI License Key that machine?
Thanks & Regards
