Good afternoon
I recently went through the process of having the NCPA agent packaged and delivered to about 50 or so of our windows machines in the Enterprise. I have logged in and checked to make sure they are checking in and they are, my question is this, since I have them added into the Nagios console already what can I do to utilize this agent from the console and provide the owners of those servers with the information that NCPA agent provides.

thanks

Hello, @jsalsbury. Did you add NCPA service checks in the CCM and are they showing up the Web Interface? If so you could create a dashboard that will include the status of NCPA checks and share it with the owners of these servers. Or you could set up email notifications.

For future deployments please check out our NCPA Ansible tutorial.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vkwf5Rp3Kj4
It automatically installs NCPA agents on multiple hosts and automatically registers NCPA hosts in XI.

Thank you, I will take a look at that video. I have taken this over from another co worker so I am behind a bit on this. I know the machines were already added into Nagios and the Agent was deployed post. We also recently had to get the ports opened so they can talk to Nagios throughout our Enterprise.

According to my support teams I should be able to communicate with everything so I was looking for a way to do that inside Nagios. If you video helps with that I will follow that path. It feels like we did things a little backwards as we are not a small company and have many different paths to take to get agents rolled out.

@jsalsbury, I see. First, I suggest going to the Configure Menu, then Configuration Wizards. From there search for the NCPA wizard. Click on the wizard and follow instructions to add at least one NCPA host. Once you finish make sure that you are able to see the new host on the home page and that all service checks are working.
If you get 1 NCPA agent to work properly with XI you can create new hosts. Either by running the autodiscovery wizard or manually creating hosts. Then go to the Bulk modifications tool, click on Add services and add all services from the NCPA #1 to all other 50 hosts. Or you can just rerun NCPA wizard 50 times against each host and XI should automatically create services for you.
