Notifications not being sent to new user

Setup user and deployed the notification template to the user. Checked config file

define contact {
contact_name FAKE_NAME
alias FAKE_NAME
host_notifications_enabled 1
service_notifications_enabled 1
host_notification_period FAKE_NAME_notification_times
service_notification_period FAKE_NAME_notification_times
host_notification_options d
service_notification_options c
email [email protected]
use xi_contact_generic
}

Check the event log and it shows notifications going to other users but not this one.

Need help ASAP. Thanks!

Tried deleting config files, writing config files and restarting the core. Still only one notification going out and it's not the one I need.

Has the FAKE_NAME contact been added to the "Event24x7 Watchdog Event Server" service?

I'm assuming you mean under the Managed Contacts screen on the Alert Settings tab... No.

Here's the deal, this user FAKE_NAME needs to get all Critical Alerts and all Host Down notifications. FAKE_NAME is our incident reporting system. So, anytime anything goes Critical we want to generate an automated incident.

That means that I cannot go into some 6000 services and some 500 hosts to add this FAKE_NAME to the Managed Contacts screen.

It needs to be added to all hosts/services you want to receive notifications for.

You can add it to them in bulk from CCM -> Tools -> Bulk Modifications Tool
Click Add Contact

them you can select the contact and all hosts and service you want to add it to.

Thank you for that tip. I just looked in there are saw that Mod Tool. I'll give it a go on our test system first.

Bulk Mod tool worked great. Updates were made and notifications are being sent to all users. Thanks for the help and please close this ticket.
