so we do a lot of monitoring based on certain ports, port-channel's, vlans etc from routers and switches (we have around 500 of them)

so two pronged question - when an IP address changes for a stack, rather than remove all the service and hosts entries and run the router wizard, how can I change the IP of the stack and then add /remove port changes?

Second part this this (is related) I have a bunch of service for one switch stack and in this case all I want to do is change the port from 2/0/1 to 3/0/1 (please see screen shot), I cannot see how this is done from here, again the only thing I can think of is to remove them all and start over, seems a bit overkill to have to do that.

Please PM me a copy of your profile, you can download it from Admin > System Profile > Download Profile.

Additionally, you would need to re-run the switch/router wizard or edit the /etc/mrtg/conf.d/XXXXXX.cfg file manually if you want to change information.

You can always just remove the /etc/mrtg/conf.d/XXXXXXX.cfg file then re-run the switch/router wizard for it to be updated, it will also overwrite the services with the proper port numbers if they have changed (as long as the service description stays the same).

Once I get the profile I can review your MRTG setup, please follow this guide though to troubleshoot bandwidth graphs (make sure you've given it 15 minutes to start graphing as well):

Mainly we want to see the time that the command took to run and the last few lines of the output so that we can see if it it's erroring or if it's running longer than 5 minutes, how long did the time say? (prepend the command with the time command)

Please attach the associated config files for 10.240.1.1 from /etc/mrtg/conf.d so that we can review them.

If you look at the top of them it should show you the command that it's running like this:
Run that command, does it work?

Does your SNMP community have special characters in it? If so, try this instead:
Please send the command AND the full output so that I can review it.
