A few (not all) of the servers that I am monitoring are showing as down when they are up. The status information field says "CRITICAL - Unable to locate cache file for <HOSTNAME>". Any ideas what could be causing this and how to solve it?

What is the check command being run for these? this is not an error from Nagios but may be from the plugin you are running.

I'm not familiar with this command or plugin, can you point to any reference material?

What are the arguments of the command?

It takes the host address and does an fping. If I do fping manually outside of nagios, the hosts show as available.
