Hi everyone !

I have a question regarding Nagios XI 5.6.0 new version.

We are actually running a licensed version of Nagios XI 5.5.2 with Nagios Core 4.2.4.
When we upgraded at the time to 5.5.2 we have faced issue with MG workers not working anymore. To solve this we have had to change Nagios Core package to 5-4.13 package.
We are planning to move to the latest version of Nagios XI but we are afraid to face configuration issues with our system as we are using 5 Mod Gearman Workers among with Nagios server.

Question is simple : can we upgrade to latest without issues ?
We cannot afford a too big outage and we need to have working MG workers.

Hi @Aezox,

As you know, there were breaking changes with Mod-Gearman in Nagos Core 4.4.2. The current version of Nagios XI (5.6.0) is compatible with Mod-Gearman 3, and we have resolved the issues you experienced with the 5.5.2 update.

While this is in beta phase, testing has been without incident. However, I would recommend updating a test server before pushing changes to your production server.

Below is the documentation for migrating your system to Mod Gearman 3 and the latest version of Nagios XI. Let us know if you have questions.

Thank you for your reply, really appreciate your assistance on it

If I understand well, MG Worker 3 with Nagios XI 5.6.0 is in beta phase, right ?
If so we will patiently wait for it to enter final phase to be sure we don't encounter bugs/errors.
I will survey changelogs to get intouch

No problem. As I mentioned, the beta phase has gone well, and if you want to check back in a month or so and we can give you an update.
