Hi,

Is it possible to limit what a user can see on a service instead of on a host level ?
For example I have 2 users that need different views for the same host :
  • Marc is an admin and can see everything
Paul is a DBA and can see only database related services on a host
Setting up the admin user is easy but limiting the second use is hard on a service level.

If I add Paul as a contact to the DBA related services he can only see the services I want but he can't see the host details.
If I add Paul as a contact to the host he can see all services for that host.
I don't want him to see the CPU/MEM/DISk services for example.
Is this possible with Nagios XI ?

Hi Dennis,

In Nagios, all services are associated with a host. So if you assign Paul to the host, he will be able to view the services associated with that host. However, if you assign Paul to only database services, from service status page he will know if the host is up or down, however, he would not be able to access the host details menu.

You can could create another host object for the DBA services.
