Hi, I would like to ask a fundamental question about the use of Nagios.
I would have the need for a diagnostic tool and network control and opted for an NMS. I wonder now if Nagios might take in managing network devices (switches, routers, end devices)

Let me explain, and to control DEVICES in the network can also control them?
I took a look at Nagios XI, I've seen that has dell'autodiscovery, that automatically scans the network, but I wondered if we could control these devices noted.

Nagios is very flexible and could probably be made to do this, but it won't be much help out-of-the-box and probably isn't the best tool for the job here.

So? My question is: can handle, take charge of network devices or monitors them only?

Nagios is a network monitoring solution, but it is not intended for network control or network management.

For network monitoring or management of the network, what software is best suited?

I'm not qualified to determine the best software for this task, but you may wish to contact the vendors of your network equipment to get started. You could also google for 'network management software -monitoring' to find a few solutions.
