Nagios XI integration with NMS Socket

Hi All,
we are planning to integrate NMS alarms to Nagios XI using Socket. Looking for Nagios to be configured as server or client. In server mode, Nagios should be listening for events on a socket/port and in client mode, Nagios should connect to a remote host and listen for event data on socket/port to which the remote host writes event data.
Could any please advise if this is supported by Nagios Xi and share any documentation.
Enviroment details:
Nagios XI - v5.6.2 - Offline install
OS - RHEL 7.6
