Can't add to existing dashboards

Hi,

Has anyone experienced issues when adding dashlets (or indeed anything) to dashboards that were created and deployed to others?

The original content of the dashboard is there but I can't add anything else. I am trying to edit as the user who created the dashboard also.

Thanks.

So, you can't add anything to a dashboard that you initially created or you can add things, but they are not visible to the user you deployed your dashboard to? Can you clarify?

Did you select the "Keep Synced" check-box, when deploying the dashboard to the user?

Yes, the 'Keep Synced' was selected. It doesn't add to the dashboard even for me (i.e. it says 'Successfully added' or whatever but it actually never appears).

In short - it doesn't add to the dashboard for ANY user (even the creator).

The only thing I've done differently than usual is that I temporarily made the creator of the dashboard an admin so that I could deploy it to everyone else and then removed the admin rights. Even when i log in as that user though I can't add anything else to the dashboard, even if I make the user an admin again.

Strange one.

@optionstechnology, I wasn't able to replicate this issue. Which security settings are currently selected for the user who created the dashboard? You can check that if you go to the Admin menu, click on Manage Users in the left column and then click on the user.
Does this happen with only one dashboard? Other dashboards work fine?
Try to add a dashlet to the dashboard again and after you do it a couple of times please generate a system profile and send it to me in a private message.
To send us your system profile. Login to the Nagios XI GUI using a web browser.
Click the "Admin" > "System Profile" Menu
Click the "Download Profile" button
Save the profile.zip file and send it to me in a private message.

Happens with a all the dashboards this user created (as a Standard User) - and as mentioned, i temporarily made him and admin so I could deploy the dashboards to others.

I haven't been able to replicate the issue, even with the same security settings for my test user.

Since you selected the "Keep Synced" button, NONE of the users that this dashboard was deployed to would be able to change anything... This is normal (by design). What it is strange though, is that the creator is not able to modify the dashboard...

Can you open a ticket via our Support Center?

Most likely, we will need to schedule a remote session in order to further troubleshoot this issue. Please attach your latest profile in the ticket, and provide a URL to this forum post as a reference.

Thanks - you can close this! Seems it was actually another user that had created them.

Logging in as this user allowed me to add new things.
