Hello,

A couple days ago we decided to try the notifications that are added to nagiosxi. We have set the nagiosadmin user to send mails for the host down and service critical errors. however as soon as i enable the email notifications we get spammed by every type of error there is. I looked at the documentation but i cant find the right answer. What do i have to do to get just the mails i did setup in the user screen?

The second question is about the check_http. We are monitoring about 200 websites by now and several websites give: HTTP CRITICAL - Unable to open TCP socket. I did google around and found out that the particular host is supposed to be a https host. The weird thing however is that none of the hosts with that error are https websites. Is there some value i have to change so more connections are possible or is there another error?

I'm not quite sure what you mean. The nagiosadmin user will get notifications for any hosts and services that it is a contact for. Is that user a part of a contact group, or an escalated contact for a lot of hosts and services?

All websites are on port 80.

About the contacting the following. As you can see on the picture above, the nagiosadmin is configured to only get mails from those 2 that are checked. However the nagiosadmin gets them all instead of just those 2. I assume that the settings are there to overrule the rest of the service notifications.

What version of XI are you running? I think I remember a bug that was resolved not too long ago, similar to this.

We are still running 2.1.

I checked the update changes but nothing in there suggests that its broken/fixed.

Could you also verify that in
Configure -> Core Config Manager -> Contacts -> nagiosadmin

In Host command* is selected only
xi_host_notification_handler

and

In Service command* is selected only
xi_service_notification_handler

As well as standard selected under each

I checked the above and this is the case.

Any other suggestions what i can check?

Could you, please, e-mail us your latest snapshot at [email protected]? It would be probably easier for us to find out what is causing this issue. Thank you!

I assume you mean the system config profile?

If this is not the case i am guessing you mean a snapshot/backup of the complete central. This is a bad idea to mail it unless you dont mind having a email that is around 150mb big. Is it perhaps an idea to do a remote session so one of your techs checks out the data he needs to see. This would be a better idea as i can ask another question as well of a problem i am facing.
