Does Nagios xi support epn anymore?

I've included "# nagios: +epn" in my perl scripts but it doesn't seem to have any effect. I notice also that enable_embedded_perl is no longer an option?

Yes, embedded perl was removed from Nagios Core 4.x and is no longer supported. Taking a look at the version 4 docs it looks like the docs were removed from the table of contents but will need to be updated to explain this change. It is however part of the list on Github for incompatibilities between 3 and 4 - https://github.com/NagiosEnterprises/na ... at3to4.dox

Thank you for the speedy reply.

I tried my "due diligence" by searching the Internet but was unable to find a single reference that epn had been removed.

Was there any explanation why? EPN seemed like a good idea.

It was a while ago but I believe there were performance issues with it that could cause Core to crash but I did not do work on Core at the time so I am not certain that was the entire reason, there might have been more issues I am not aware of. I do know that when Core performance was improved in 4 though, that was one of the things removed for sake of performance.
