New RRD files owned by apache instead of nagios

Hi there!
When we run up a new network device and want to monitor bandwidth utilisation on the various interfaces, we are finding that the .rrd files generated by the XI wizard are owned by the apache:apache user/group instead of nagios:nagios. This has the effect of preventing data from being recorded for bandwidth on those interfaces until someone manually opens an SSH session and manually updates the ownership of the files.
Why are these not being created with the correct ownership in our environment?
Thanks for any help!
Regards,
Greg.
