Hello,
Back in 2016, a request was made for functionality to block hosts/services with acknowledgements and/or downtime from being displayed on the home dashboard. This was assigned TASK ID 7481.
Did anything ever come of this ask?

The task is still in our system. It hasn't been assigned a version yet. Bug fixes have priority over feature requests, and there are quite many features already in the system. Our developers are implementing them based on importance/priority. Unfortunately, I do not have an ETA on task 7481. The good news is, it is not cancelled so it may get implemented in one of the future releases of Nagios XI.
Meanwhile, you could try excluding acknowledged problems and objects in scheduled downtime by clicking on the "Unhandled" links under the "Host/Service Status Summary" pages. Maybe you could use the "Custom URL Dashlet" to add them to your "Home" page. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Hello,
Thank you for the quick reply.
While this isn't a huge work-stop issue for me, it's a constant irritant. Management looks at the home dashboard, sees the red, and then asks why are there servers down. Seeing red on the dashboard envokes a Pavolvian response in managers -- they see it and instantly go into panic mode. I explain about downtime, and then they ask "how do we make it so we don't see servers in downtime?". More explaination, more questions, more time lost. Lather, rinse, repeat.
I know, I know: "train your managers". Managers aren't the most trainable of creatures. It's not like they're Border collies or dolphins or something.
Anyway, here endeth the rant. Thanks again for the reply,
