Hi All,

We have built new Nagios XI server and migrated all hosts/services from Old Nagios core to new Nagios XI.
We have migrated 1800 hosts from which 70 are still DOWN.However this hosts are UP in Nagios Core.
Ports/firewall are allowed.
Not sure why this are showing down. This hosts include(Windows,Unix,Network,Websites).

Error Messages for sample as below. Please suggest.

LoadBalancer -- CRITICAL - dev1m02b: rta nan, lost 100%
Router --- CRITICAL - 172.0.18: rta nan, lost 100%
Unix Server -- CRITICAL - dev214.tower.lan: Host denied (firewall?) @ 10.135.1.214. rta nan, lost 100%
Windows Server -- check_icmp: Failed to resolve dev167.tower.lan
CRITICAL - 10.56.0.2: rta nan, lost 100%
Website -- CRITICAL - apicatalo.com : rta nan, lost 100%
CRITICAL - dev.SCappliance.com : Host denied (firewall?) @ 10.135.1.214. rta nan, lost 100%

If you log into your new server that you migrated to can you ping these hosts?

Code: Select all

dev1m02b
172.0.18
dev214.tower.lan
10.56.0.2
apicatalo.com
dev.SCappliance.com
some of them look like they aren't even valid IP's or they cannot be resolved by the DNS servers you have set

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the reply.
I have provided sample alerts above.Though IP's are not correctly mentioned here those I have mentioned only for error purpose.
IPs configured in our Nagios XI are correct and same as our Nagios core.

However few hosts are not pinging from nagios xi.Checked with network team and got update that no firewall/ports are blocked. All good from their end.

Please suggest.

Regards,
Priyanka Bachu

If they aren't pingable then there is either a networking or firewall issue. I would reach out to the network admins. Could also be and IP/netmask configuration issue on the new XI server.
