status_image versus icon_image and NagVis?

Hi,

I'm new to Nagios XI and having trouble understanding the difference between status_image and icon_image and when/where they are used within Nagios XI.

Unlimately, I want to display the host in a NagVis map, but the image used in the maps are based on, as I understand it, iconsets.

This might be more of a NagVis question, but how do you get NagVis to use the image configured for a host on the map - either using the status_image or icon_image image?

Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided.

I think in order to do what you're looking to do, you will need to create custom icons for your hosts. This doc should help with that.

Thanks.

Yes, I eventually realised this and had found that link

However, this still means you need to manually configure the host in NagVis to use the iconset, rather than it being based on status_image and icon_image, or some other value, in the host configuration.

Yes, to my knowledge, that's the way it has to be done. This may be one for the NagVis forums. I'm sorry I can't be of more help here.
