Microsoft OS vs. Linux

Is it possible to install and run Nagios XI on a server running a microsoft OS and cygwin, as opposed to a linux box?
http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... quirements32 and 64 bit RHEL 5.x/6.x or CentOS 5.x/6.x
It can however run in a VMWare image that is running on Windows.
