HI Team,

All was working as expected, but suddenly encountered below error

Code: Select all

$check_nrpe -H osldo001 -t 30 -c check_ToCompello_age -2
No output available from command (scripts\check_winfile.exe --target D:\ToCompello --filter "age lt -10 minutes" --rootonly --critical 0).

Whereas check_ToCompello_age command is defined in NSClient++ config file on server.
On server's cmd, Output is coming.

PFA doc.
check_nrpe_Error.pdf
Please help.

Thanks
Hoegh

So it was working, and suddenly stopped working? How long was it working for? Were there any changes to either Nagios or the remote server around the time that the check stopped working?

Can you post your nsclient.ini file? Also, if you could post the link to where you downloaded the check_winfile.exe plugin, that would help as well.

Yes it was working since server was established in environment [last 3-4 years]. There is no changes on Nagios server, but we've upgraded server from 2008 to 2012.

Well now the command is working fine again without any action.

For now command is working as expected. Do you still want me to post nsc.ini file.?

I Don't know exactly about this as I'm using stored exe file in my project shared folder. But probably this is from where we can download check_winfile https://itefix.net/check_winfile

It sounds like whatever was preventing it from running properly is an intermittent issue. It will be a difficult one to nail down, one way or the other. But given that Nagios was able to kick off the service check, and it failed to report back, I would recommend investigating that remote server to see if there was a period of high CPU load, or high disk activity, etc., during the time that the check was failing to return output.

But if you find anything that suggests Nagios, or the agent were not working properly, definitely let us know and we'll be happy to troubleshoot it with you.
