Database keeps crashing

Hi Nagios Team,

We have been facing Database chases several times with some instances, we have 20 Nagios XI servers and 3 or 4 are constantly showing this error:
Database Error
A database connection error has been detected, please follow the repair prompt below. If the issue persists, please contact Nagios support.
Run the following from the CLI as root to attempt to repair the DB:

/usr/local/nagiosxi/scripts/repair_databases.sh

We run the repair commands and everything works fine for 2 or 3 days and the error appears again.

Can you please advice?

Hello,

That's quite a few XI servers! Are they any similarities between the 3-4 servers as far as setup or environment? If not, it would be best to open a separate forum/ticket for each system to help us focus. The root cause may differ for each server.

Can you send me the system profile from one of those serves so we can review the logs? Thank.

Login to the Nagios XI GUI using a web browser
Click the "Admin" > "System Profile" Menu
Click the "Download Profile" button
Save the profile.zip file and share this in a private message and then reply to this post to bring it up in the queue.

Hi Benjamin,
We found out with Nagios support that the issue may be that the server is hitting the max connections to the MYSQL database and we have to implement this article to fix the corruptions:

We reviewed and all 4 systems had exceeded the limit. We will go ahead and run the fixes to see if that solves our issues.
